Spring Activity Camp 2019

 Due to the popularity of the 2018 Spring camp 224 Cub pack and Scout troop will be running a joint Spring activity camp at Belchamps again.   Activites are still to be confirmed as this very much depends on how many we have attended but are likely to include wobbly pole, demolition derby, bungee run, caving simulator, leap of faith, cork guns, human table football, paintball slingshots and more

The scouts will also be able to take part in Ladder challenge, Jacobs ladder etc 

We have also booked a Wednesday afternoon to the theme parkAdventre Island -


Belchamps Scout Activity Centre, Holyoak Lane, Hawkwell, Essex SS5 4JD (not far from Southend).


We will be staying in Tented accommodation ( and taking part in a variety of activities

What is it?

A weekend literally pretending to be Ray Mears! Lots of fun activities with other local cubs. The programme will include backwoods cooking, building your own shelters and sleeping in them, playing games in the woods and learning how to safely use bushcraft tools such a knives and saws

This will be held at Danemead Camp site in Broxbourne -

Travel: Please meet at the Uncle Toms Cabin at 19:30 on the Friday.  . You will need to walk from the car park with your kit. Collection is at 15.00 on Sunday afternoon from the same place.

The East Finchley Festival has been bringing the local community together for 40 years.  It gets bigger each year with more stalls and more entertainment and it’s totally free to attend.

What Will We Be Doing?

We are running a stall to showcase what we do and promote our Beaver, Cub and Scouts in the community.  And as ever, we are hoping to recruit further helpers!

We will also be helping out with litter-picking during the afternoon. 

How Can I Help?

Adults or Beavers, Cubs or Scouts can help by:

- assisting on the stall during the day

- picking litter (especially later in the afternoon/early evening)

What is it

We will be undertaking a full 40 minute sightseeing tour of London .  We start at Tower bridge go past Canary Wharf & the O2 arena and right through the incredible Thames Barrier and return to the Millennium Tower Pier.  However, this is not a sight seeing tour for the faint hearted.  As the tour will be on board one of the latest ribs powered by twin turbo 740hp engines

Once past the barrier it will be full on action with lots of twisty turns, awesome tunes and high power all the way back to Tower Bridge

This Experience is a great combination of laugh out loud commentary, amazing sights and most importantly enough high speed to leave you Ultimately Exhilarated and the ultimate roller coaster ride of your life

Passengers are seated at all times during the trip unless advise by the crew of the RIB and will be wearing suitable safety fear including life jackets

End of Term Family BBQ and AGM

 You are invited to the our annual End of Term Group BBQ. This is open to all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders, Supporters of the Group and Families. 

 The evening will commence at 18.00 at the Training Field and include  a BBQ  (various  Burgers, sausages, buns and salads)

 We hope to  both archery and air rifle ranges open for any adults that wish to have ago

 This year we will be joined by some Wise Old Owls (No I don't mean Andrew)  but 

 At around 19.30 we will hold our Annual General Meeting which we ask parents to attend. This short formality will take no longer than 15 minute

So  that we can organise the catering can you please confirm your attendance by Tuesday 9th  July 2019 (either "yes" or "no"  )  ls also indicating how many people will be attending and any catering requirements.

Docklands Water Activity Weeke

Please note that once a place is booked it is considered final and MUST be paid for unless we can find someone to fill the place

Travel to and from the Docklands will be by coach which is being partially subsidised by the group

 A £45 deposit is required on booking with a further £45 payable in August

What is it

This is a weekend for all cubs and scouts to have a full ion water experience and finding out about life on a ship from the Revali to evening Colors.  The Sunday will finish with our very own and very wet regatta 

Where is it

The water activity weekend will be held in the Docklands Scout Project which is based at West India Key on the Isle of Dogs and we will be sleeping on board Lord Amory  -  a 150 foot /47 metre, ex Dutch Pilot Cutter built in the late 1930‟s
