Our farm visit

Visiting the farm was so great! It was my first Scout field trip with the Beavers.

The animals were so cute. There was a lady who showed us around the farm and we were really lucky to get to touch a few of them.

The first animals we saw were the rabbits and guinea pigs. They were so fluffy. We all got to touch them but we had to be extra careful and very gentle. Touching the guinea pigs was my favourite part of the farm visit. My least favourite part of the visit was finding out that rabbits eat their own poop because it’s how they get their nutrients.

We also got to see some pigs. One of them was very noisy and they smelled really bad. Their teeth were really big and gross and brown.

After seeing the pigs, we saw some specials cows. We were told that they used to be kept to feed families with their milk. They weren’t like normal cows because their legs were very short and one of them was very talkative.

The goats stayed next to the cows on the farm and we were allowed to touch them. The lady at the farm told us that they wouldn’t hurt us.

The last animals that we went to see were the chickens. It was so cool to see fluffy chickens! We learned how to tell the difference between male and female chickens.

Thank you to the Scouts team for such an amazing field trip!
