Beavers is about making friends, trying new things and enjoying the first big steps into Scouting.

Every meeting offers something different. Our Beavers enjoy games, crafts, outdoor activities, practical challenges and opportunities to earn badges and awards.

We currently have spaces for new Beavers, subject to availability.

What do Beavers get up to?

Activities may include:

  • Team games and challenges
  • Crafts and creative projects
  • Cooking and simple practical skills
  • Exploring nature and the outdoors
  • First aid and safety activities
  • Visits and water activity days
  • Helping the local community
  • Working towards badges and awards

Beavers are encouraged to join in, try their best and support one another. The aim is to build confidence, independence and friendships while having plenty of fun.

Your child’s first meeting

Your child does not need a uniform for their first meeting. Comfortable clothes, suitable footwear and a named water bottle are all they need.

We understand that starting something new can feel exciting and a little daunting. Our volunteer team will welcome your child, introduce them to the other Beavers and help them settle in.

Uniform, badges and awards

Once your child has decided to join, they will wear the light blue Beaver sweatshirt with the 224 North London Air Scouts scarf.

Badges celebrate participation, effort and achievement. Beavers can earn activity badges, staged badges and challenge awards as they explore different interests.

You can also learn more about Beaver Scouts on the official Scouts website.

Information for parents and carers

Our parent resources explain membership, payments, uniform, equipment and what families can expect after joining.

Help our Beaver Colony grow

Beavers depend on adults giving a little of their time.

You do not need previous Scouting experience. You could help regularly, join an occasional parent rota, support a special activity or help behind the scenes. Full support and appropriate training are provided.
