Are you ready to make a difference in young people’s lives and have an unforgettable experience?

Every week, our volunteers are the backbone of empowering thousands of young individuals, teaching them new skills, fostering friendships, and helping them become independent individuals. They are our everyday heroes, positively shaping the lives of young people while discovering more about themselves in the process.

Nearly 60,000 young individuals are on waiting lists, eager to join us in the UK. We are more relevant and essential than ever, but meeting this demand isn’t always easy. At 224, all sections have a waiting list due to insufficient adults. As we have our building, we can also be flexible with meetings. For example, at 8:30 on a Saturday, working with 4 – 6 year-olds, you may want to consider starting Squirrels, where you will receive full support.

That’s where you step in.

You don’t need to be an expert outdoorsman or have prior scouting experience to join us. People of all ages, genders, races, and backgrounds are welcome. Whether you enjoy making tea, organizing activities, driving a minibus, doing DIY, or providing first aid, your contribution is invaluable. We welcome students looking to enhance their CVs, parents wanting to spend quality time with their families, or anyone willing to lend a hand.

No matter your skill level or availability, your involvement will be rewarding. From running activities in local halls to organizing camps or simply helping out with everyday tasks, every Scout meeting brings new experiences. The impact you’ll make, however, will always be significant.

We offer training to equip you for your role. We need your commitment, enthusiasm, and willingness to create lasting memories.

If you’re over 18, you can become an adult volunteer in Scouting; there’s no upper age limit for volunteers. If you’re between 14 and 18, you can become a Young Leader.

Excited? Fulfilling? Absolutely.
