Essential Outdoor Activity Kit

When embarking on outdoor activities, it’s crucial to pack accordingly. This guide provides a list of items you’ll need for various activities. Each activity may have specific requirements, and we’ll provide detailed guidance before each event. Always pack your gear, label your belongings, and use a rucksack for easy carrying.

Hiking Kit List

Clothing:

  • – Hat
  • Scout Shirt and scarf
  • Long-sleeved fleece/sweatshirt
  • Waterproof cagoule/jacket
  • Gloves or mitts
  • Long trousers (track pants, activity trousers, uniform trousers) – **NO CORDUROYS/JEANS**
  • Long warm socks
  • Walking boots (if unavailable, waterproof shoes and an extra pair of socks)
  • Waterproof trousers (if you have them)

Personal Equipment (in a rucksack with two straps)

Pack everything in a dry bag or several carrier bags for waterproofing (rucksack liners or garden bags work well)

  • – Spare jumper
  • Spare socks
  • Hot drink in a flask
  • Emergency rations (for real emergencies only)
  • High-energy food (e.g., flapjack, banana, glucose sweets, Mars bar)
  • Working torch with spare batteries (unless wind-up)
  • Small first aid kit (5 plasters, 2 wound dressings, bandage, antiseptic wipes)

Camping Kit List

  • Clothing and Sleeping:**
  • Uniform
  • Scarf, hat, and gloves
  • Warm sweaters, jumpers, or sweatshirts
  • Sun hat, sun cream, and sunglasses
  • T-shirts or similar
