If you are between 14 and 18, maybe becoming a Young Leader with 224 is right for you. We are always looking for Young Leaders to join the team in all sections. Whether you’re doing the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, transitioning from Scouting, or just keen to give back to your community, we’d love to have you.
As a Young Leader (ages 13.5 to 18), you’ll volunteer with Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, or Scouts. You’ll help plan programs, coordinate activities, and ensure the kids have an unforgettable time. Your contributions are vital and highly valued!
For those volunteering as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, you’ll volunteer for the duration specific to your award level:
- – Bronze: 3 months
- Silver: 6 months
- Gold: 12 months
While doing your D of E volunteering, you will become part of the district’s Young Leader Unity, where we will support you in your role. We offer various training modules and missions. While many are optional, one essential module—Module A—must be completed within your first three months. OfE volunteers are also required to complete Module A.
As a Young Leader, you’re automatically included in the Explorer Scout section (ages 14-18), where you can participate in activities designed for your age group. Plus, your volunteering time counts towards the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme!
We can’t wait for you to join our team and make a difference! Get in touch today
