Welcome to Scouting, where the adventure begins! It’s all about trying new things and building excellent skills. Whether you’re super into sports, love looking at the stars, want to capture the perfect photo, or explore pioneering projects, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy!

Membership Award

When you join us as a Scout, the first badge you’ll earn is the Membership Award! You’ll receive this special badge after making the Scout Promise. Did you know that Scouts all over the world wear this badge? How cool is that!

Activity Badges

We have 59 activity badges waiting for you, plus two extra ones: Activity Plus and Instructor badges. Each activity badge lets you group skills related to a specific activity—like the Power Coxswain badge! You’ll learn about different boats and waters, know the hazards and rules, and develop your power boating skills. Once you’ve checked off all the requirements, you get the badge! These badges are blue with a lovely red edge.

Staged Activity Badges

There are also 16 Staged Activity Badges, which work like the regular activity badges but are tailored to your skill level. If you’ve been through Beavers and Cubs, you might aim for Stage 3, but if it’s an entirely new skill, you can start at Stage 1! These badges are light blue with a purple edge and have a number at the bottom to show which stage you’re on.

Challenge Awards are about stepping outside your comfort zone and trying something new! There are nine different challenge awards to unlock. Each encourages you to take risks, lead, and discover hidden talents. You can find more details about these awards on the Scout’s website!

Other Awards

**Joining In Award**

These awards celebrate those who get involved right away. You can earn one for each year you’re a Scout!#

Leadership Stripes for Patrol Leaders

In Scouts, we form groups of 4-6 called patrols. Each patrol has a leader and an assistant leader—Scouts with excellent leadership skills, Scouting know-how, and good behaviour.

Eventually, you’ll be ready for the next exciting chapter in your Scouting journey—Explorers!!

Remember, earning badges isn’t just about showing up for an hour a week. Our badge criteria are flexible! You might also be able to earn badges through activities outside of Scouting. If you play on a football team or are a passionate cyclist, show us your skills! You can even have a teacher or instructor sign off on your progress. Sharing what you’ve learned with your fellow Cubs can help you with your Team Leader Challenge Award!
